## How your time together is counted

The calculator counts your time the way people say it: first the **full years**, then the **months** left over, and finally the **days**. If you got together on February 14, 2022, on October 20, 2026 you will have been together for 4 years, 8 months and 6 days.

Alongside that, it shows the totals in days, weeks, months and hours, plus a few fun facts, like how many weekends and full moons you've shared. Add the time it all started (the first kiss, the question) and the counter goes down to the second.

## A couple's special dates

- **Monthly anniversary:** every month, on the day you got together. Lots of couples celebrate each one until the first year.
- **Anniversary:** every full year. The calculator shows when the next one is and how many days are left.
- **100 days, 500 days, 1,000 days:** round milestones that slip by unnoticed. You reach 1,000 days at roughly 2 years and 9 months.

## Why remembering the date matters

Remembering your date is a small way of showing that your story matters. Nobody has to memorize it: save it on your phone, put the counter on your home screen and use the milestones (100 days, 1 year, 1,000 days) as an excuse for something sweet, whether it's a note, an old photo or a surprise prepared with care.


## About the count.

### How do I work out how long we've been together?

Count the full years since the day you got together, then the full months left over, then the days. The calculator does it by the calendar, so it handles 28, 30 and 31-day months and leap years.

### When is our monthly anniversary if we started on the 31st?

In months without a 31st (or a 29th and 30th, in February), the calculator uses the last day of the month. If you got together on January 31, your monthly anniversary in February is on the 28th or 29th.

### What counts as "days together"?

The number of calendar days between your start date and today. On your 100-day mark, for example, 100 full days have passed since the start.

### Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. The maths happens in your own browser and nothing is sent to LoveMemo. If you share the result, the date and names travel only in the link you send.
